Ten years ago, the Division of Plastic Surgery came under the leadership of Dr. Hollis Caffee, who strengthened the residency program and took it to a three-year format. With his planned relinquishing of the helm, the program transitions to new leadership. After a lengthy external search, the institution again turned to a current faculty member. M. Brent Seagle, MD accepted the position and assumed these duties on March 1, 2005. Dr. Seagle has been a member of the faculty since 1986 and holds the rank of Associate Professor of Surgery. His primary area of interest is pediatric plastic surgery and he is Surgical Director of the UF Craniofacial Center. He plans to build on the solid foundation laid by Drs. Caffee, Bingham and Jurkiewicz, recruit new faculty, expand resident opportunities, strengthen ties to alumni of the program and bring the division to a higher status within the health science center. some in academic programs, a few retired and sadly a few have passed away.
