Research Interests
Robert Winfield is currently a PGY-5 General Surgery Resident. He
recently completed two years as a trainee in the T32 Research
Fellowship in Trauma and Burns in the Laboratory of Inflammation
Biology and Surgical Science and is working primarily under the
guidance of Dr. Lyle L. Moldawer. He maintains active research into
dysfunctional inflammatory responses of obese patients to injury and
post-injury resuscitation. Other interests include trauma and burn
prevention. He plans to pursue a career in academic pediatric or
acute care surgery (trauma surgery, emergency surgery, and surgical
critical care) upon completion of general surgery training.
