Department Name

The Pediatric Surgery Laboratory was originally established by Dr. James L. Talbert, who had an intense interest in pediatric airway problems. The laboratory was further strengthened in the late 1980's with the addition of Dr. Max R. Langham, who began an in depth investigation of lung growth, maturation, and physiology in congenital diaphragmatic hernia. Today, the Pediatric Surgery Laboratory is headed by Dr. Elizabeth Beierle.  The laboratory currently has progressed to the study of intestinal engineering and tumor biology.
